Q: Do you ship online orders for food items?
A: Sorry, but no.
Q: Where are orders to be picked up?
A: Our home is located in Margaree Valley, Cape Breton Island, NS, not far from the Cabot Trail. If you need directions, you can let us know this at the time of ordering.
Q: What recipes do you use?
A: These products are made using favourite family recipes passed down to us over the years, many of which are more than 50 years old. Some recipes would have been made in the early 1900’s.
Q: Are the ingredients “organic” or “natural”?
A: We use unbleached flour, pure vanilla, and we use a variety of sugars (e.g. raw, creamed honey, white, brown, icing), depending on the recipe. (We do not use bleached flour.) We aim for no artificial flavours or colours and no corn syrup in our food products, however, pie crusts do contain vegetable shortening. Think of the basic baking ingredients which were around back 50+ years ago or more. This is home-style baking.
